Homeland Security grant to allow equipment upgrade
Rockingham Fire Department will receive a $49,020 grant to purchase the latest in self-contained breathing apparatus.
Rep. Robin Hayes (R, NC-8) announced the Operations and Safety Grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grants program.
“I am pleased to announce that the Rockingham Fire Department will receive this important funding,” Hayes said. “These firefighters put their lives on the line every time they go on a call,” He said. “While the firefighters will be the direct beneficiaries if this funding, all of he citizens of Richmond County are the true beneficiaries of this grant.”
