Hayes: US House approves $233 million for Bragg
FORT BRAGG, N.C. - A North Carolina congressman said military construction worth more than $233 million has been approved for Fort Bragg by the U.S. House.
Republican Rep. Robin Hayes said Friday the House approved the funding for construction at the post in the 2009 fiscal year. Hayes district includes Fort Bragg.
The funding bill still has to be approved by the Senate and signed by the President.
Hayes said the bill includes $150 million for a new Army Force Command headquarters to house a special operations command that is moving to Fort Bragg by 2011. The funding also will help expand special operations facilities.
